Add volunteer position

Volunteers are crucial to a school's events and programs. Our School Pages makes it easy to recruit and fill positions by showing available volunteer positions to those Users that are registering for an event.

Here is how to create volunteer positions:

Go to the Admin side of the website.

Under PACKET SETTINGS, select Volunteer positions.

From the Program drop down box, select the appropriate program and click Refresh. If the program for which you are adding volunteers doesn't appear in the list, you will need to first add the program. (Need help creating a new program? Click here.)

Click [+new volunteer position].
Complete this page. (Explanations for each field are located in the table below).

Press SAVE when you are done.
Repeat this process until you have had made all of the necessary positions. If you should want to change the order that the positions appear, click on the green indicator arrows. Click here for more help with this.

Below is an example of the Admin side when creating a Volunteer position page: (Please note numbers on all of the images and the table below as they will show the correlation between the front and back side of the site.)

1	Title	The title of your volunteer position, e.g., "Science Fair Judge"
2	Position is open	Check this box if you would like to find volunteers to fill this position. This volunteer position will appear on the volunteering page for your packet, and users can sign up to fill this position. If you are done recruiting for this volunteer position, uncheck this box.
3	# of Volunteers needed	The number of total volunteers that you need for this position. Once this many volunteers have signed up, the position will no longer appear on the volunteering page for your packet. This is the case even if the "Position is open" box is still checked. Leave this blank if you are searching for an unlimited number of volunteers for this position.
4	Description	This is a brief description of your volunteer position.

Note: After you have created your volunteer positions, you will need to link them to the appropriate packet. Need help with this? Click here.

Once all of the above steps have been completed, the front end results will look like this:

Note: There is no number 2 in the above picture due to the fact that the position IS being made available for fulfillment. If the "Position is open" box was unchecked, that particular position would not be offered during this sign up process.
